IKEA….Finally!
July 10, 2006
We finally made it out to IKEA in Canton. It was okay I guess. The one I went to in New Jersey was much better. The resturant area in Canton is a lot smaller and they do not have as much as of a selection. I asked if they offer less than other IKEA’s in terms of food, and they said they are sort on probation for a while to see what sells, etc. Hopefully they will add more to the food selection later. You all know how I feel about eating and then shopping.
We did see quite a few things we liked and did a bit of note taking. We didn’t buy anything outside of food though. We know what color we want our kitchen counters though:) That was exciting! We had been discussing the color for some time, but when we saw it in one of their set-up kitchens we grew even more excited. I can’t reveal the color though. Since we aren’t even on the kitchen yet, I figure that can wait.
It’s definitely nice to have an IKEA nearby. Jeff and I will be making plenty of trips there while we work on our house more and more. Next time we need to leave ourselves more time to browse though. The store is ENORMOUS!
It’s almost opening day…..

Thanks to Jeff’s parents for sending me this great news. Ikea is opening on June 7th! I can’t wait! It’s going to be nice having an IKEA in our backyard. Apparently all of the hotels are booked in the area surrounding the store. I guess people just can’t wait to get in there and fight over kitchen cabinets and Daims. Jeff thought it would be fun if we went on opening day to record the crazygoers. From afar of course! Don’t want to be part of the stampede. Just kidding! They emphasize on their website that there will be nothing special for anyone who is first, second, or third in line. Just take your time and visit when you get the chance. Make sure you try their food too. It is delish!
