From Newark Airport

Jeff recorded this while on the skywalk over our Easter trip to airports, I mean Alabama. I like it and wanted to share it with all of you. I was sitting down at the gate in the end on my laptop (as well as Ethan Hawke…except we didn’t record him). You can’t really see me unless you look really hard with a magnifying glass though.

Is this footage great or what? It is quintessential airport.

Back at the airport

Ethan Hawke is sitting right behind us at the gate. He too is going to Birmingham it seems.
How funny.

*He was on our tiny airplane and when he walked by, Jeff said he heard him talking to his blonde girlfriend about how funny it was that people think celebrites get first class seats when he’s sitting in the back near the bathroom.* ha ha

When I went into the bathroom there was pee all over the floor.

So gross.

Glad we were in the middle. We got the emergency door seats. Very spacious. I highly recommend you ask for them on your next flight. All you have to do is help people off should the plane need to be vacated. No biggie.

Update…

Now…our 7:35 pm flight has been cancelled due to weather. We are stuck here in New Jersey till tomorrow morning. That’s IT! We are going to New York for the evening to enjoy at least some of this HORRID day.
Ohh, I forgot to mention the fact that we only got like 3 hours of sleep last night and feel completely exhausted and grouchy. Just as I predicted two blog posts ago.

We need a beer.

*update again. We were hoping to make it out to New York for the evening, but we didn’t realize just HOW exhausted we were until we got to our room.We’re near an IKEA:) So all is not lost afterall. I’ve never been inside an IKEA only their online version. I’m excited! If they are still open. With our luck they closed at 6:00 PM.

Live from Newark Airport in New Jersey

Jeff and I missed our connection flight (@ 9:25 am) to Birmingham, AL . We flew on Northwest out of Detroit(@6:45 am) and were suppose to jump on a Continental flight in New Jersey. Little did we know that flight was in a totally different terminal all together and we stood in a Delta Airlines line (which said it serviced Continental) wasting the short amount of time we had available to get to it. We had less than an hour to find out where the hell we were suppose to go and by the time we got to the other terminal we were told it was too late to board the plane even though there were 20 minutes left before it was actually supposed to leave. They knew we wouldn’t make it because the gate was VERY far. Indeed it was. We know this because we ran all the way there on and off those escalator skywalk thingys out of breath bags flying everywhere. It was the very last gate. Of course! Now we have to wait until 7:25 pm to get on a new flight. I suddenly despise this airport.

I thought it would be nice to take advantage of this unexpected “in-between” time and spend a few hours in New York, seeing that we don’t make it out here often. However, because we don’t know how much time we have since we would have to include travel time we have decided to stay at the airport. I hate to say it, but I knew something like this would happen. That’s what we get for trying to save money. As much as I would love to go to NY. I will just lose it if we miss this next flight.

I’d rather be in a coffee shop in New York than at this airport though:( Wish there was a subway we could jump on to go into the city.

At least we saw the Statue of Liberty from the airplane.
