Gum Thief Videos
November 2, 2007
This afternoon as I walked past the New Books section at the Library, I noticed Douglas Coupland had a new book out: The Gum Thief. I immediately went online to see what the reviews were. Not too bad. So I decided to check it out. When I got home I decided to do a google search on the book to see what else I could find about it. At this point I was sick of playing on Facebook and checking my email. I ended up coming across some fun YouTube videos Douglas Coupland put out to promote the book. They are based on the perspectives of the characters. I never thought of Youtube as being a place for authors to market their books…..but it is and how cool is that?!! Of course, this has probably been going on for quite a while. I’m just behind the whole YouTube curve.
Too busy Facebooking I suppose.
Below are the videos I watched. There are a couple other shorts promoting the same book on Youtube. Maybe it will entice you to borrow the book. Or maybe it will turn you off. Either way. At least you’ll know. It’s definitely not something you could have done years back. Who knew we’d be watching snippets of a book on a computer? Am I the only geek impressed by this stuff?! Anyway. Check em’ out!

Not a 100….but 101! That’s what I’m talking about.
