Two Worms

July 29, 2007

Check out this movie of Jeff showing my nephew how to do the worm (from last November). Oliver’s on his way to becoming a pro breakdancer. ;)

Yesterday, Jeff told me my Moo cards arrived. I ordered them about two weeks ago. I was too tired to stop by the house to pick them up. It didn’t stop me today (despite my constant state of sleepiness) Immediately after work, I swerved in and out of the sardine packed lanes of 696 and I-75 driving as fast as I legally could (65) to get to these…..

Moo Cards

Aren’t they adorable? They are my new calling/email cards. No more looking for a pen and paper to write on when I need to give someone my contact info.

LOVE *sigh*

Thanks guys!

Ummm…..how come none of you told me I was listening to the SECOND Harry Potter Book instead of the first? I went to look for the second book here at the library and needless to say….I felt like a complete IDIOT. ha ha! I could have sworn The Chamber of Secrets was the first. Darnit!

I am halfway through the second book but now I am going to start listening to the actual FIRST book called Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone ( Philosopher’s Stone in Britain). I’ll never make it to the last book. *sigh*

Of course, I’ll have to repeat the last three tapes I’ve been listening to so it all makes much more sense. I REALLY thought I was listening to the first book. They talked about what Harry Potter looked like and everything. So weird.

Ohh well….

July 19, 2007

Well….now that I have been listening to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on my trips to and from work, I can now see why it is so alluring and addictive. I was going through Starbucks drive-thru this morning and had to turn the tape off briefly as I ordered. It was hard.

Today I am borrowing the movie even though I’ve already seen it. I really don’t remember half of it though. I’m going to hold off for the weekend though as I want to hear all of the book first.

I wish I could fit all of the books in before tomorrow evening’s final Harry Potter release. But that would just be impossible.

Unless we lived in a world of magic similar to Harry Potter’s. ;)

Green part two

Because one can never have too much green on a blog. *scroll down to see more green*

Embarrased….but

July 15, 2007

I’m going to admit something that I am truly embarrased about. Are you ready?

I have never read any of the Harry Potter books and I have only seen one of the movies. I’ve also never seen or read any of the Lord of the Rings.

Yes, I had to admit this mostly because of the fuss about this new and final book of the Harry Potter series coming out. I can’t help but feel a little out of the loop. So tell me…..am I a bad person for never having read or gotten addicted to this series? I mean, outside of the fact that I SHOULD read the books seeing that I work at a library and have to do readers advisory occasionally.

Why did I not see or read Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter you might be asking yourself? I dunno…..they just sort of remind me of Dungeons and Dragons.

Example of what I’m getting at…..here.

So convince me I am ignorant to have NOT read these books or seen the movies. Please tell me how I will never be complete for having NOT read or seen the movies. I promise I will run out and borrow every movie and book if you can do so.

Thanks!

Andrea

Over the fourth of July holiday I got to see ALL of my family. It’s not usual that all of my sisters can make it up at the same time, so you can only imagine how psyched I was to see them. Seeing them ALL though is hard considering how large my family is. It seems like there is never enough time to spend with each of them. I did spend a great deal of time with my sister Andrea and nephew Griffin since they stayed with me a couple nights. One evening I spent a good couple hours setting Andrea up with a new blog and Flickr account, showing her a lot of cool features. While in the process I thought about how she didn’t even have a camera and how she probably wouldn’t even use the Flickr page all that often. Then I remembered a camera that Jeff and I had lying around the house waiting to be sold on eBay. I also thought about how Andrea’s birthday was coming up. I talked to Jeff about the camera and needless to say…….we gave the camera to Andrea for her upcoming 26th birthday. *interesting tidbit….July 27th until my birthday in September Andrea is 26, our other sis Jessica is 27, and I’m 28.*

Anyway…here are two pictures Andrea has posted on Flickr which I absolutely LOVE:

Keep up the great shots Andrea!!! Glad you love your new camera and that I can see all my Bama family more often now. Even if it is only virtually. :)

Good Lord!

July 12, 2007

I just realized how much I have been using “woo woo” lately.

Please feel free to smack (or spam) me whenever I am this annoying.

I just talked to a lady at the Department of Public Works in Hamtown regarding garbage days (been caring for my friends cats on the other side of Hamtown). I couldn’t remember what day my friend told me to take out her garbage. I had to explain where my friend lived because I could not remember her street name due to no signage. The lady laughed and said “like most of Hamtramck’s streets.” She then informed me that they just got the order (approved?) for all new street signs. There will be new signs going up on all streets shortly. I was so happy to hear this.

Woo woo!! People will finally know how to get around without frustration. I was beginning to think Mapquest and Google needed to use Landmarks instead of street names for people trying to navigate their way through Hamtramck.

“Turn left after the fire station”
“Turn right after the second fire extinguisher”
“You should then see the old lady who sits on her porch feeding the birds all day…wave to her”
“To your left you should see an alley. Isn’t it cute. Now keep driving. Watch out for the broken glass in the street.”
“You should see a dollar store on your left…turn right”
“Drive for about 2 seconds and then turn left before the stop sign.”

You know what’s better than Ben and Jerry’s Super Fudge Chunk ice cream?

Losing 5 pounds.

Woo woo!
