Boo!

October 30, 2006

Nothin’ much to say folks. Time flies way too fast. Even when you get to fall back an hour.

The weekend did not provide us with the time to get pics together. I think we just needed a break. Our attention has once again shifted to the house which means less time and energy being spent on the computer.

Jeff took out some old windows upstairs (single pane) over the weekend and put new ones in. So that’s something new and exciting going on over here. *Other than the fact that I just bought some new shoes*

On another note, I’ve kind of been considering ending this blog. I just need to figure out a way to preserve all that I have written thus far, so the last couple of years worth of writing do not feel like such a waste. I know of a publishing site which could turn it into a book for me, but there would be some formatting involved. It could take me years to complete. *Sigh* I sometimes get freaked when I realize how accessible this stuff is. You know? Like when you mention something and it starts showing up in google searches, etc. When I write I’m in my own world, so it is so easy to forget this stuff is out there for all to read. Not that I don’t realize that..I mean hello, It is on the internet and all!

Sometimes I’m fine with that. Other times I’m scared. Like I just saw a ghost scared.

Since I was just talking about the song used in this video (GAP commerical), thought I would share a little bit of it and Andy Dick’s version of the commercial. I found it over on Detroit Diva’s blog. I LOVE that GAP commercial even though some hate it. Notice how MY lyrics would have been more fitting? “Black is back!” vs. “Back in black!” Totally the first one right?!!!

I know..I know…I should be in advertising. *sigh*

ps. I hate the Skinny Pants. How about they make the Big Butt pants. Or bring back parachute pants *correction- “diaper” pants (remember those?). Something normal people can wear.

Update

October 24, 2006

Not that anyone is still reading my lame old blog..but for those two of you who still are because you’ve read just about everything else that REALLY interests you…..I’ll be updating soon. I have a whole slew of pictures to go through from Jeff’s brother’s wedding this past Saturday. We also have some from before that; bridal shower, bachelor party, and bachelorette party.

Just give us a few more days…I mean this weekend, to get to it. Jeff is now busy doing t-shirts and vinyl signs for the new MOCAD museum which premieres in a couple days. He’s literally running around like a chicken with his head cut off to meet the deadline. Last week he was doing the same but for his best man speech, etc. The guy just never rests I tell ya. It keeps him in shape. He did a lot of break dancing at the wedding and one of the bridesmaids who is in her thirties was like “Wow! How old is he?” as Jeff was doing the windmill. I was like “Ohh, he’s 33. Don’t let that breakdancing fool you! Ha ha!” Jeff was rippin’ tha dance floor up I tell ya….and I got video to prove it! Although, it’s kinda dark and hard to see him. You can hear jamboni playing clearly though. “jamboni!”

Okay. I’ll post pics soon. As well as some details from the wedding.

Hint: Let’s just say Jeff is lucky he has such a forgiving and loving family. I’ll leave it at that for now ;) You can just use your imagination to speculate what is meant by that statement. Feel free to guess by leaving comments if you can’t wait till I spill the beans.

AUTUMN, you cannot guess cause you already know! Don’t even try to use a different name either. I got my ways of knowing where and when you were on here a well as what browser you were using, what OS you used as well as what IP address. Ohh, and your phone number and your hair color and your SSN and your blood type and your ACT score. I believe that just about covers it all.

Ha!

Recent Happenings/Pics

October 12, 2006

So I’ve been on this “meeting people in my blog world” kick lately. First Autumn, now Devon (AKA DTC). Devon was in town from New York for two weeks and we met up with him this past Tuesday at Slow’s Barbeque in Detroit. Devon, you are one cool guy and I apologize for being so tired and lame. Next time you are in town I promise to have had a good night’s sleep. I’m not usually THAT tired by 10:00 PM. I also promise to take better pics next time. Most of the pics I took were blurry and bad. This one was one of the best in my opinion.
All Eyes on Devon
We had a great time and look forward to hanging out again when either you are in town or we are in New York. Hopefully NOT stranded at an airport.

On Monday (Columbus Day for which I did not have to work) I met my friend Jason and Vicki’s newborn son Liam (Jeff had to work like most of you unlucky ones..aha ha!). So anyway, Liam was sooooo adorable. He looks a lot like his dad. Liam is not too fond of sleep though, which was VERY surprising to me because I thought that was all babies do when they are not eating. Made me think maybe I should have had kids when I was a teenager, back when I was not tired ever. I could have handled no sleep. So the more I wait, I’m thinking the more tired I’ll become and the harder it will be for me to be a mother. Not looking forward to no sleep at all people! Anyway… I can’t wait to visit them again soon and watch as he grows up. He’s gonna be a little mini Jason and Vicki. So crazy…. friends and family getting married and having kids already. Gawd! We’re all growing up so fast and I’m still carrying my cabbage patch kid around. Sike! You believed me!

We also made time to visit my grandpa at his house. Often there are family members already there visiting. On this day, there were aunts and uncles as well as my cousin Nicky and her three kids. Here I am playing with her oldest daughter Alexis. I believe she is 3. It’s so hard to keep track of ages in my family. Way too large and way too many kids. Heck, I can’t even remember how old my siblings are without doing the math.

I’m Speechless

Snow in October

Might I remind you. It’s OCTOBER!

Okay, this will be brief as I just got out of class and I have to go back to work till 9:00 PM.

You know your class is boring when your own professor keeps falling asleep during her own lecture. Seriously. She’s never done it before, so I know it isn’t narcolepsy. It’s called “been teaching the same class for waaaaaay too long.” I was kinda falling asleep too, but that’s to be expected in cataloging right?

Anyway, me and some of my classmates kept chuckling (under our breath) whenever she would do it. I’m sorry if some of you find that immature, but seriously, you just have to have been there to see it. It’s like she’s talking, and we’re writing, and then there’s this long pause and we look up and there she is dozing (head dropping and eyes fluttering or closed altogether). I almost went into one of those laughs where you can’t stop. I couldn’t look at the girl next to me at all because she kept giving me that look of OMG, which was just cracking me up!

Anyway….blog soon. Must find coffee.

Jeff’s Baby Doe

October 7, 2006

Click here to visit Jeff’s website and see his finished art piece. You’ll have to click on 3-D. Make sure you click so you can view it at all angles. The Art Opening was last night (Friday) at the S H Gallery in Ferndale. It was part of Scott H’s exhibition.

The 3-D image Jeff has up on his website is not the highest resolution so it doesn’t show the details on the doe’s head, etc. It looks much better in person so go see it before it finally learns how to walk and bolts out of the gallery.

All of the works were great so make sure you have enough time to see them all. You’ll be amazed at what the artists came up with for their animal.

The exhibition runs until November 25th.
