New Pics
November 29, 2005
Posted some Flickr pics from the Adult. and Dinosaur Jr. show. No, they didn’t play together (two different veins of music). Adult. played last Saturday at the Magic Stick and Dinosaur Jr. (the original bandmembers) played last night at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor. Forgive the photos. It was dark and hard to take decent photos.
Things I love right now…..
November 29, 2005
- Opening my eyes every morning to see that Jeff is not just a dream but that he is indeed real. Love you shmurl.
- The smell of fresh cut wood (daily occurance in our household)
- Using a heating pad to warm myself up on the cold crisp nights while reading, surfing the web, or knitting
- Ana da Silva’s album “The Lighthouse”
- Adam and Nicola’s (Adult.) new video. It was shot at their home in Detroit and directed by Anthony Ernest Garth. (We just saw them perform last Saturday. Adam let us see what the V.I.P. room looks like at the Magic Stick. It’s what you would expect for a bar….writing on the wall a couple chairs and a table…very inviting)
- This blog called Dooce that I was recently turned onto by friend Jennifer. You may have heard the author’s story a couple year’s ago. She was fired from her job as a web designer for blogging about work. Well, she’s since grown up, gotten married, and had a baby. Her writing is phenomenal and her pictures beautiful. I love that she writes letters (monthly newsletters) to her daughter Leta every month. Make sure you check them out under monthly archives. For sure to put a smile on anyone’s face. Especially you momma’s and poppa’s out there.
- Silk brand soymilk egg nog. I found one of the last 1/2 gallons left on the shelf last night while grocery shopping. Sooooo good and is even lactose free! I think it may also be vegan friendly now that I think about it. So what are you waiting for? Go get you some of this noggy goodness!
- Taking a steam shower. Words can’t even express. I never thought I would say this but “I can’t wait to have a cold this winter”. I want to test how effective the eucalyptus oil will be with the steam. Am I demented to WANT to be sick? Maybe. But at least it’s for an experiment.
- Sleeping in. Since I haven’t started my new job and my other one hasn’t needed me, I have a lot of free time these days (but no money). What better a way to spend my time than sleeping in. Lord knows I will be busy when school starts or when I have a baby someday. Might as well get as much sleep as possible now:) Or admit that I stay up way to late to not sleep in.

Scarf weather is here
November 23, 2005
I bought some worsted weight yarn Monday for this scarf I have begun for Jeff. Monday night I met up with my new knitting friends Ann and Catherine. We chit chatted, knit knatted, and drank hot tea and coffee. I must have been so caught up that I didn’t pay much attention to my belongings. Last night I was franticly searching for my “Stitch n’ Bitch” book. I turned the house and cars upside down looking for it. I couldn’t for the life of me remember what I did with it. I then remembered it was on my lap as I was knitting on Monday night at the coffee shop. I didn’t need the book so I brushed it aside to where it slid next to me in my sofa chair. When it was time to go I slipped my jacket on and was so preoccupied talking to Ann and Catherine that I didn’t grab the book. It must have sat there still on its side hidden from my view. I remembered this late last night and was unable to call because the coffeehouse was already closed. Damn it! I thought. It was hard to sleep last night. All I could do was worry about where my precious knitting book was. I imagined the worse case scenario. Someone saw it and took it. It was hard cover. Who wouldn’t want a hard cover knitting book called “Stitch n’ Bitch” even if they couldn’t knit? Yeah, that’s how erratic my thoughts had become. I knew I could get a new one and Jeff tried consoling me by saying he would get me a new one, but I just wanted the one I was missing. It was THE ONE he had given me for my birthday. It was sentimental to me.
To make a long story short. I called the coffee house first thing this morning and sure enough they had it! Whew! I was relieved. I picked it up at exactly 1:05 PM today and was happy to have it in my hands again. I looked at it lovingly and whispered “I will never let you outta my sight again!”
Ok, so I didn’t really talk to it, but I did just about damn near kiss it lemme tell you. That is how happy I was to see it again:)
Bush in Beijing
November 21, 2005
I was watching “The View” this morning where they showed some rather amusing footage of the president in China. His facial expressions (and childlike stance) in this video were priceless and I couldn’t stop laughing. How hard was I laughing you might wonder to yourself. Well, let’s just say I started with a full cup of coffee and after the video found myself with just a half a cup left wearing some rather uncomfortable damp jogging pants and with a few mild coffee burns to the thighs. I should tell you though, the video online does not do it the justice it deserves. Perhaps it will be on the daily show tonight so you may see it in all of its television screen glory.
I have to say I give the president credit for one thing. Comedic entertainment. It’s good to know that what he lacks in intelligence he makes up for in (unitentional) humor. Clinton and Kerry have nothin’ on him. Nuthin’.
Keep it comin’ Bush. Let’s see if you can get me to spill a whole cup of coffee on my lap next time around;)
HERE IS SOME BETTER FOOTAGE OF BUSH’S ATTEMPTED EXIT!!

Also,CLICK HERE if you still haven’t seen this short piece on Bush’s infamous speeches. Very funny stuff:)
Coincidence. For real.
November 18, 2005
So I was just taking a shower when I had one of those weird coincidence moments. I’m sure you’re all thinking “Sarah and her coincidences.” Seriously, I can’t explain them but they happen to me more often than not. This time I was in the shower listening to music on WDET (we have speakers in our shower) when there was a newsbreak at the top of the hour. It was all bad news; “64 people were killed in a car bomb today…..on and on”. I rather absent mindedly started singing “Bye, bye Mrs American pie….drove my chevee to the levee but the levee was dry….” then I caught myself and laughed. I laughed because I haven’t even heard the song lately and all of a sudden I’m just singin’ it. I think I was trying to drown out the bad news I was hearing. After hearing about more death in the middle East I decided I couldn’t handle it anymore and turned the channel. I stopped on a nice 80’s upbeat Madonna song that was already close to being through (So I sang a few versus before it was done). This is where I almost lost it though. The next song was one of Don Mclean’s. I couldn’t tell if it was American Pie yet but I could hear it building up and was pretty confident it was THE song I was just singing out of nowhere. This left me wondering… what the heck is goin’ on? This can’t be the song I was just singing out of nowhere. Then the chorus finally confirmed it and I laughed and thought “well isn’t that somethin’?!” I started singing and dancing like I was a kid again (yes in the shower). I love it when it happens. Like that moment is meant just for you and noone else. At the same time I’m always left wondering….what does it mean? Moments like that? Am I suppose to read into them and analyze them or just take them for what they are, a mere coincidence. Things just line up at the right time and place in time? I was once told that when you have coincidences in your life that means you are on the right track. Whatever it is…..I like them and hope to continue experiencing them:)
The news we’ve all been waiting for…..

I got the job!
I’m going in to fill out the paperwork and meet my fellow cohorts tomorrow.
Thank you to all you well wishers out there:)
Yahoo problems
November 15, 2005
Hey everyone! I’m having problems with my e-mail account for some reason. Every time I try to go to my mail account at Yahoo it closes down Safari. Weird. I’ve never had this problem before. So I tried Explorer and it actually let me get into my Yahoo account and read e-mails but the “listener” won’t let me respond to any e-mails. The error messages are “Unable to add event listener for click to undefined” and “Unable to add event listener for keypress to input”. So sorry I can’t respond to some of your e-mails. I need to do some troubleshooting it seems. Perhaps Yahoo changed some settings or something?

This has to be be one of the most disturbing and sad stories I’ve read since finding out there are web sites devoted to supporting anorexics, bulimics, and even cutters unhealthy lifestyles.
Coincidence
November 10, 2005
I was volunteering at the library today when I saw the woman who interviewed me for the computer assistant position. She came into Technical Services with the look of someone on a mission. I continued putting tracking labels in the back of the children’s fiction books while daydreaming. I thought I heard the name “Sarah” being thrown around but paid no attention since there may be another one lurking nearby. Before I knew it the woman who interviewed me last week was standing before me.
“Well hello Sarah. Do you remember me? I interviewed you last week.”
My response after being taken aback “Umm…yes….yes I do. It’s >insert name here
