Old videos.

Jeff starts em’ young.

From Easter 2007 in Huntsville, Alabama. Jeff told them he was taking photos of them. Instead he was shooting video.

A girl can try can’t she?! This footage is from July, 2006 in Chicago.

more about "Skate or Die!"

Jeff recorded this of me back in February of 2006 at Blue Mountain in Ontario, Canada. Ahh..good times.

Hello *echo echo echo*

January 17, 2008

I’m still ALIVE (for those of you who were readers of this blog). I used to have a blog, WordPress software I could customize to my heart’s content, and a host I paid for monthly. *I highly recommend them btw. However, in an effort to save money AND not feel guilty about not blogging as often as I should have….I transferred all of the entries here to the free WordPress. I miss being able to customize my blog but feel much better since I can blog on my own terms if and when I want and feel no guilt whatsoever.

So I’m here and I might blog or post a picture on occassion, but I make no promises.

I will admit..it was nice to visit here again. :)

PS. For anyone looking at my archives…things look a little different over here. Some things may have gotten lost in the transfer, etc. I used to have personal movies that I had hosted on my server. Obviously, I had to chuck those. So those entries will no longer have the Quicktime movies. Additionally, I have made my Flickr photos private. That is why you will see “image not available” everywhere.

Gum Thief Videos

November 2, 2007

Gum ThiefThis afternoon as I walked past the New Books section at the Library, I noticed Douglas Coupland had a new book out: The Gum Thief. I immediately went online to see what the reviews were. Not too bad. So I decided to check it out. When I got home I decided to do a google search on the book to see what else I could find about it. At this point I was sick of playing on Facebook and checking my email. I ended up coming across some fun YouTube videos Douglas Coupland put out to promote the book. They are based on the perspectives of the characters. I never thought of Youtube as being a place for authors to market their books…..but it is and how cool is that?!! Of course, this has probably been going on for quite a while. I’m just behind the whole YouTube curve.

Too busy Facebooking I suppose. ;)

Below are the videos I watched. There are a couple other shorts promoting the same book on Youtube. Maybe it will entice you to borrow the book. Or maybe it will turn you off. Either way. At least you’ll know. It’s definitely not something you could have done years back. Who knew we’d be watching snippets of a book on a computer? Am I the only geek impressed by this stuff?! Anyway. Check em’ out!

Pumpkin Love

October 31, 2007

My sister-in-law said “grab a pumpkin!!” as I walked into her house this evening. She had already begun carving a skeleton faced pumpkin.

I grabbed this pumpkin and we had a laugh.

I’m so in love with my new nephew.

Ohh Sebadoh

October 30, 2007

One of those bands that just brings me back. I’d obsessively listen to them again and again in high school. I saw them back in 98 but they had changed quite a bit by then (as most bands do). I much preferred their earlier lo-fi stuff. Here are what I remember them as in my High School days. Except “On Fire.” That came out when I was a freshman in college. Harmacy. Not one of my favorite albums, but certainly not one of the worst. There were a handful of great songs on the album…in particular I liked the lyrics.

*beating heart be still*

@Jeff- the attic shots in the Skull video reminds me of how our upstairs used to look at the Hamtramck house. Ha! Also, I wish I was home so I could post some pics of you with your longer hair. You looked just like Lou Barlow back in your college days. *pch!*

Umm…errr…

October 24, 2007

A man contacted me inquiring about a couple of my photos on exhibit right now. He wants to know how much I would sell them for so they can be in a couple American/Canadian magazines. He said they would be interested in owning them so they can use them anytime they want. The paranoid part of me pictured myself blindly agreeing only to later realize they were put in some smut magazine or something. Umm…no thanks.

The smart side of me wrote down his info and said she would get back with him.

Anyone have any idea on how to proceed? I’d love to make some extra money off some of my photos….but I don’t know about the whole magazine issue. Is it the same as selling a photo to someone to hang on their wall?

Der. I should have paid more attention to copyright in school.

Status

October 22, 2007

You know how you can give your status on Facebook or Twitter? Well….if I could give a status on my blog right NOW, it would say:

Sarah is feeling nauseated after drinking a grandé soy caramelatté from a certain coffeehouse in Royal Oak. She does not recommend it as a last ditch effort to stay awake into the wee hours of the morning for last minute midterm prep. She feels like she drank a grandé carsick latté with curdled milk.

Wowzah!

October 17, 2007

Hey there kids! I’ve got some new virtual digs. I feel it’s a lot cleaner and easier to look at. Yes, I DID just end that sentence with a preposition. The previous theme was just not cutting it for me anymore. Had to spice things up a bit.

Maybe it will even inspire me to start writing here again. *stop laughing*

Okay, I’m done nerding out.

ps. Maybe I’ll even begin tagging my posts again too. Not everything is “personal.”

Awesome Proposal (not mine)

October 14, 2007

This is something Jeff would have done….if he had thought of it first. ha ha! Seriously though……this video brought tears to my eyes. So sweet. You can’t beat the Sigur Ros soundtrack either. Ok….I’m going to watch it again and ball all over again. It’s THAT good. Enjoy!

Read about this guy’s proposal here.
